Retailer lists Nintendo Switch Pro for €399, leak suggests launch imminent

PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch 12

  • A French retailer has apparently listed the Nintendo Switch Pro for €399.
  • Another big retailer is expected to take a new Nintendo console listing live on June 4.
  • This suggests that the OLED Nintendo Switch Pro could launch any day now.

The Nintendo Switch Pro is coming in hot. A recent report suggested that it could be unveiled ahead of the E3 gaming conference. Now, two new leaks point to an imminent launch for the console.

The first leak comes courtesy of a retail listing for the Nintendo Switch Pro. Spotted by Nintend’Alerts (via VGC), French electronic retailer Boulanger has apparently listed the new machine for €399 (~$486). We checked and couldn’t find the said listing live on the website, but the leakers posted a screenshot of the information they dug out from the retailer’s database.

Bloomberg previously reported that the new OLED Switch could be priced upwards of $299 which is how much the original Switch cost when it launched. Analysts believe that Nintendo could drive strong demand for the console even at $399. However, if the European retail listing is accurate, we might see an even pricier console. Alternatively, Nintendo could stick to the 399 figure both in Europe and the US.

Meanwhile, folks over at CentroLeaks claim that they’ve verified a screenshot from a big retailer’s internal system that shows a new Switch hardware-related listing will go live on June 4. Nintendo has set an E3 event for June 15, but it doesn’t look like the new hardware will debut there. Instead, new Switch games are expected to be showcased at the event.

Of course, there’s nothing to suggest that the retail listing or the June 4 release leak are accurate or even real. However, they seem to be in line with what we’ve heard about the console so far.
