Plan Picks: Get 5G on Sprint with the half-price LG V50 ThinQ
The AAPicks team writes about things we think you’ll like, and we may see a share of revenue from any purchases made through affiliate links.
Welcome back to Plan Picks. We’ve spotted a couple of alluring offers this week, including your chance to have 5G coverage in a matter of days.
Excited? So were we. Here’s our summary of our two favorite plans of the week.
LG V50 ThinQ 5G on Sprint
5G has arrived on Sprint. It was never going to be cheap, but you can save over $430 with this deal.
Here’s the offer: When you pre-order the brand new LG V50 ThinQ 5G from Sprint on a Flex Lease, you’ll pay just $24 per month after bill credit.
The usual Flex Lease price for this exciting new model is $48 per month. Since you need approved credit and an 18-month lease, this represents quite a savings.
So it’s just $24 per month?
If only, right? Remember, that’s just to lease the phone. You still need a plan. In fact, to take advantage of this offer and start blazing on 5G, you’ll need a new line of service on a capable plan. This means the Unlimited Premium plan, which is another $80 per month.
So that’s just over $100 per month in total, but it’s worth it. Here’s a taste of the bang you’re getting for your buck:
- A brand new LG V50
- 5G connectivity, if you’re in one of the coverage areas
- Unlimited data, calls, and texts
- Full HD video streaming
- 100GB LTE mobile hotspot
- Hulu, Tidal, and Lookout
At the moment 5G service from Sprint is only available in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, and Kansas City. It’s also due to come to Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix, and Washington DC in the first half of this year.

BOGO Galaxy series on Verizon
The other big savings we spotted this week was the buy one, get one Verizon deal. The exciting part is that it applies to any combination of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, S10, S10 Plus, or S10e.
It’s a top offer, but it’s not quite as simple as it sounds.
For a start, it’s not exactly BOGO. You get up to $750 in bill credit representing the second, lesser-value model, plus a $200 prepaid Mastercard.
Make no mistake, hard cash is arguably better than a two-for-one deal. It just means you have to wait month by month for most of it to arrive.
Hey, $950 is $950. Any small print?
Yes, there are a few other terms to consider. Here’s a summary from Verizon:
- Up to $1,249.99 device payment purchase and port-in per phone required
- Second phone must be of equal or lesser value
- $750 promo credit applied over 24 months within one to two billing cycles
- Promo credit ends if eligibility requirements are no longer met
- New smartphone line of service and Unlimited plan required
- Line must remain active for 45 days; $200 charged back if canceled within six months
Head over to Verizon to check out the full details of this deal. It won’t be for everyone, but if you want two new Galaxy phones and new plans, it’s hard to beat.
