PlayStation Vue plans and pricing
You've got some decisions to make.
If you want a streaming experience that's most like traditional cable — that is, more channels in one place — then PlayStation Vue is definitely one you'll want to consider.
It's not one-size-fits-all, however. PS Vue, as the kids call it, has four plans from which you can choose, with four prices to go along with them, plus some premium add-ons. You get different base channels with each plan, and the prices range from $44.99 a month (that's about $540 a year) to $79.99 a month (or about $960 a year). And the really nice part? PlayStation doesn't play games, with only some channels available on some packages, causing you to spend more than you really want. It simply builds from the least expensive package.
Note: A $5-a-month increase goes into effect on July 24, 2018, for new subscribers, and July 31, 2018, for existing subscribers. Here's how the new prices will break down:
- Access ($44.99): This is the most basic package you can get with PlayStation Vue. You get 45 channels, from AMC to CNN and Fox News, to ESPN and Disney, and more.
- Core ($49.99): This package adds in sports channels like MLB Network, NBA TV, NFL Network, and regional sports. You'll also get the Cooking Channel and additional movie channels.
- Elite ($59.99): This'll get you BBC World News and a bunch of movie channels (including some great bad movies on demand) that you never knew existed.
- Ultra ($79.99): This is everything in the Elite package, but with HBO and Showtime (east and west for both) added in. And that's not a bad deal at $10 each per month, which both of them costing more if you were to get them separately. You'll also have access to the Showtime Anytime app, And HBO Now apps.

Standalone channels on PlayStation View
If you just want to go with one of the more basic PS Vue plans and add on from there, you can do it. Here are how the add-on subscriptions break down (all prices monthly, and all have free trials available). And a reminder — the Ultra plan includes HBO and Showtime for just $20 over the elite plan, which saves you $6 a month over subscribing to them separately.
- Sports Pack ($10): This'll get you Bases Loaded, ESPN Classic, Goal Line, the Longhorn Network, MLB Strike Zone, NESN National (that's New England sports), NFL Red Zone and Outside TV.
- EPIX Hits ($2.99): A decent movie add-on. Is included with the Elite and Ultra plans.
- Español Pack ($3.99): Spanish-language channels.
- FX+ ($5.99): Everything you love from FX, on-demand and commercial-free.
- HI-YAH! ($2.99): Martial-arts and Asian action movies.
You also can add stand-alone premium channels. They include:
- HBO for $15 a month
- Showtime for $8.99 a month
- CInemax for $15 a month
- HBO and Cinemax for $19.99 a month
- EPIX Hits and Showtime for $11.49 a month
- Fox Soccer Plus for $12.99 a month
