Samsung’s Android 12-based One UI 4 beta could open sooner than you expected
- Samsung is expected to roll out the One UI 4 beta next month.
- The update should land on the Galaxy S21 series first.
Samsung just rolled out One UI 3.1.1 for the Galaxy S21 series and it looks like the first beta for One UI 4 based on Android 12 is not far away.
According to a user on Samsung’s community forum (h/t TizenHelp), the company will open up One UI 4 for beta testing in mid-September. The user says that the beta update will first roll out to the Galaxy S21 devices.
While the person claims to be in a profession that allows access to developer-side information, we would advise you to take this with a pinch of salt. That said, there’s some other evidence that TizenHelp lists pointing to an imminent One UI 4 beta release.
The publication claims that Samsung is building a new beta firmware version for the Galaxy S21 series in South Korea. It comes with build number G991NKSU3ZUHE, wherein the “Z” denotes that this is beta software. The outlet claims that this new beta is set to release sometime next month.
Another hint comes from Geekbench. While benchmark listings can be easily forged, this one lists the Galaxy S21 Ultra with the Android 12 operating system, suggesting Samsung could be testing the same right now.
Elsewhere, Samsung has also updated one of its Good Lock modules for the Android 12 release. The first module to get support is One Hand Operation Plus. The changelog for its update mentions Android 12 support. This is another indicator that Samsung is readying its apps for the new software.
Samsung hasn’t announced any details about One UI 4 yet. However, given all these hints, we could hear from the company in the next few weeks.
