Honor to hold first global launch next month, and here’s what to expect
- Honor has announced that it will be holding its first post-Huawei global launch soon.
- The event is set to take place on August 12.
- We’re expecting the Honor 50 series and Honor Magic 3 line.
Honor held its first major launch earlier this year in China, showing off the Honor 50 series as the first proper post-Huawei devices. Now, Honor has announced its first global launch since gaining its independence.
The Chinese manufacturer has revealed that a global press conference will take place on August 12, 2021. Aside from a “save the date” graphic sent to tech media (seen above), the firm hasn’t disclosed a venue, broadcast time, or other details just yet.
So what should you expect from this launch event, then? For starters, Honor launched the Honor 50 series in China, so we’re guessing that these mid-range phones will be revealed at the global event.
Honor has also previously teased the launch of the Honor Magic 3 series, confirming that this line will offer the Snapdragon 888 Plus processor. It therefore stands to reason that the Magic 3 will make its debut here. The Magic series has always emphasized standout designs, with the original offering a slick curved design while the Magic 2 delivered a slider form factor. We’re guessing that the Magic 3 line will offer a neat design of its own.
It’s also worth noting that these Honor phones are set to support Google services, as the manufacturer confirmed that it’s back in the Google fold. So this might be the closest we can get to new Huawei devices with official Google integration for now.
