Yo dawg, a sub-brand heard you liked sub-brands, so now it has a sub-brand too
- Realme has launched a new sub-brand dubbed Dizo.
- Dizo will focus on smart home, smart entertainment, and accessories.
Realme itself started out as a sub-brand of Oppo, and while it’s largely an independent company these days, it still shares a lot with Oppo. Nevertheless, it looks like the former sub-brand is adopting a similar strategy by launching a sub-brand of its own, dubbed Dizo.
The new Dizo brand will focus on smart home gadgets, smart entertainment, and accessories, according to its official website. The website adds that this is the first brand in the Realme TechLife ecosystem. This ecosystem covers everything from smart TVs and security cameras to wireless earbuds and electric toothbrushes. In other words, it sounds like phones are off-limits for now.
The website also reveals that Dizo will lean on Realme for industrial design, the supply chain, and “AIoT” expertise. Dizo has also confirmed that it has over 320 service centers in 310 Indian cities, ostensibly leveraging Realme’s resources here too.
There’s no official word on the first products from Dizo, but at least two tipsters have pointed to Bluetooth earphones (in both neckband and true wireless flavors). We hope these are more than just rebranded versions of existing Realme products, as we have more than enough rebranding exercises happening across the consumer tech industry.
In any event, a press release confirmed that the brand will be “coming soon” to Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, South America, and more.
