Poll: Would you buy Honor phones now that they’re regaining Google services?
We’re not sure if you’ve heard, but Huawei’s former sub-brand Honor has some good news to share. The newly independent company’s upcoming smartphone — the Honor 50 — will release in the European market with Google apps and services on board.
Yes, Honor will finally be a member of the GMS club again after it lost the privilege due to the US ban on Huawei. The mothership finally had to sell off Honor in November last year so that the subsidiary could ensure its own survival.
Now that Google services and apps will be accessible again on new Honor phones, and the fact that the company has premium Snapdragon devices in the pipeline, it could be poised to regain its market position in regions like Europe and Asia.
One of the biggest reasons for the downfall of Huawei and therefore Honor in these markets was the lack of Google services. Because of it, the company lost considerable market share to brands like Xiaomi, Realme, and others.
With Honor phones regaining GMS, users will once again be able to take advantage of Google’s apps, APIs, and cloud-based services, such as Google Drive, Google Photos, and much more.
Keeping this in mind, we want to know if you will once again start buying Honor phones. Was the lack of Google services the only thing holding you back? Take our poll above and let us know what you think in the comments section below.
