10 best new Android games from December 2019!

Android gaming is getting bigger and better every month it seems and there is always a slew of new titles coming to Google Play. Whether you’re a casual gamer or you want something with a bit more meat on its bones, there’s usually a game coming out to suit everyone’s taste. Some months are better than others, but there is usually at least one great new game on mobile every month. Let’s take a look at the best new Android games from the last month! You can watch the videos on YouTube from previous months by clicking here! You can also check out our picks for the best new Android games for 2019 in the video above!

Black Desert Mobile

Price: Free to play

Black Desert Mobile is a new MMORPG and it’s already fairly popular. The game boasts five character classes, decent graphics, tons of things to do, and even some side stuff like fishing and crafting. The big deal seems to be the extras outside of the usual fetch quests and combat so players feel like they’re not just doing the same stuff over and over again. However, like most MMORPGs, you do eventually end up doing a lot of the same stuff over and over again. It’s good, but not amazing, and it should get better over time as the developer fixes things up.

Bouncing Buddies

Price: Free / $2.99

Bouncing Buddies is an endless runner style game. Players start in any given level and begin bouncing forward. You must swipe left and right to bounce in the proper spots, avoid obstacles, and complete the level. The game includes 40 levels, a single price tag, no micro-transactions, and a bouncy EDM-style soundtrack. It’s not the deepest game, but its single premium price tag is rare in this genre and people seem to genuinely like it.

GRID Autosport

Price: $9.99

GRID Autosport is easily the best game of the last month. In fact, if it’d launched a week or two sooner, it may have ended up on our best Android games of 2019 list, but we simply didn’t have enough time to evaluate it. In any case, this game is fairly outstanding. It comes with good controls and above average graphics along with hardware controller support. It’s a racing game with over 100 cars and over 100 events to race. It’s very close tot he PC and Switch versions as well so you get more or less the same experience either way. This is one of those really good ones that we only get to talk about a few times every year. However, we fear its $9.99 price tag may keep most people away.

Monopoly

Price: $3.99 with in-app purchases

Monopoly is the official release of the classic board game on mobile. It plays very similarly to the actual board game. In fact, the game has no pay-to-win mechanics and was approved by Hasbro before the game’s release. The game includes a house rules setting where you can choose some common house rules. Additionally, there is are offline and online multiplayer modes, a single player mode with AI opponents, and more. Our only gripe is the game play. It’s a little slow for our tastes and some of the finer rules need to be ironed out. Other than a few small issues, the game is actually fairly decent.

Om Nom: Merge

Price: Free to play

Om Nom: Merge is an idle tap game by the same developers of Cut the Rope. You play as Om Nom, a monster who loves to eat. Your goal is to add more monsters to eat as much fruit as possible. Players combine monsters to create even hungrier monsters and this scales up like most idle tap RPGs. It’s not any deeper than most others and some players have already maxed out the game’s potential. Still, it’s a family friendly entrant into the genre and it’s fun top play for a while.

SaGa Scarlet Grace: Ambitions

Price: $23.99

SaGa Scarlet Grace: Ambitions was the last big Square Enix release of 2019. It’s an RPG with open world elements along with a focus on the narrative like most Square Enix RPGs. You can engage in the game’s events in the order you choose and kind of define your own path through the game. It really wants you to have the freedom to go whatever path you want. You can also create a team of warriors and the combat is turn-based. It’s insanely expensive like most Square Enix RPGs, but there are zero free to play mechanics or in-app purchases. You get the full game for one price.

Terraforming Mars

Price: $8.99

Terraforming Mars is a board game with strategy and simulation elements. Players work on turning the big red planet into one capable of supporting life. It plays like its real board game equivalent for the most part. The game also includes both single and multiplayer with up to five players. Some other features include multiple game variants, various challenges, and some other stuff to keep the game fresh. The game has a few bugs and a higher than normal price tag. However, it otherwise worked fine in our testing.

Very Little Nightmares

Price: $6.99

Very Little Nightmares is an adventure-puzzle game with some horror elements. You help a girl in a yellow raincoat explore, survive, and escape a house rife with paranormal baddies. Players do this by solving various puzzles and progressing through the game. The graphics are quite nice and play well with the game’s story and atmosphere. It’s also the prequel to the game Little Nightmares on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch. You can simply continue the story from the end of this game to one of those platforms if you want. We’re surprised to see a premium game from Bandai Namco, but this one is surprisingly good.

Witchspring4

Price: $4.99

WitchSpring4 is the next game in the WitchSpring franchise. The game is about a race of deities with magical abilities. Humans drove them into hiding but now they want to fight back. You play as one of these deities and your goal is to conquer all of the continents. Players explore, fight, and train until they are powerful enough to reach the end. There is the occasional bug and also the occasional translation error. However, the game play mechanics are good and this game is decently fun. You can find the other three games of the series on the developer’s page.

Ylands

Price: Free to play

Ylands is one of the most unique games we’ve seen in a while. It’s a game with a bunch of other games. The mechanics vary per game and you could end up playing a platformer or an RPG. Plus, you can build your own experiences in the game’s sandbox mode. The game launched with a few issues, namely some connection issues the developer is still working on. However, this should be a pretty neat experience once it’s up and running properly.
