2018 flagship phones could offer faster charging speeds than Galaxy S11 5G

The Samsung Galaxy S11 5G looks set to succeed the Galaxy S10 5G in the coming months.

We’ve seen several Galaxy S11 leaks in recent weeks, ranging from a 108MP camera to the possibility of 8K recording. The leaks are only just beginning though, and the Samsung Galaxy S11 5G may have surfaced online this week.

A Samsung phone with the model number SM-G9860 passed through China’s 3C telecom website, according to XDA-Developers and DroidShout. The model number lines up with the Samsung Galaxy S11 5G, according to previous leaks.

Furthermore, the listing mentions 5G support and 25W charging, which is in line with the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G and faster than the S10’s 15W speeds. Hopefully the 25W figure is just a placeholder for now, because the likes of Huawei, OnePlus, Oppo, and Xiaomi all offer faster charging solutions in 2019.

That’s not to say 25W charging is slow, but we’ve seen the likes of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition and Oppo Find X all offer faster charging back in 2018.

The news comes a few days after XDA uncovered evidence of 8K recording, a 108MP camera, and a host of new camera modes in a beta version of the Samsung Camera app. This suggests that the Galaxy S11 camera experience will be a major upgrade compared to Samsung’s 2019 flagships.

Another leak this week uncovered a 120Hz option in the latest One UI 2.0 beta, suggesting that Samsung could be hopping aboard the high refresh rate bandwagon too.
