There’s still no release date, but the Samsung Galaxy Fold is coming soon
Today, Samsung announced the Galaxy Fold will launch in the U.S. “in the coming weeks.” The phone will be available in two colors: Cosmos Black and Space Silver.
Samsung opened pre-registrations in the U.S. less than a week ago and previously mentioned a September release, so the announcement wasn’t entirely surprising. That said, there was talk of Samsung aiming at a September 6 launch for the Galaxy Fold in South Korea.
To quell concerns people might have with the Galaxy Fold, Samsung also announced the Galaxy Fold Premier Service. The service provides one-on-one customer support over the phone. It also provides an optional one-on-one onboarding session to walk you through the Galaxy Fold and its features.
Even though Samsung previously announced several design changes to the Galaxy Fold, the phone internally likely remains the same as it was when it first launched earlier in 2019. That means a 7.6-inch, 2,152 x 1,536 AMOLED display on the inside, a smaller 4.6-inch HD+ (1,680 x 720) AMOLED display on the outside, a 12MP+12MP+16MP rear triple camera system, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, 12GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage.
