Xiaomi confirms Redmi K20 series launch date for India
Xiaomi has confirmed the anticipated Redmi K20 series is coming to India within the next six weeks. The company made the announcement on Twitter via its official Redmi India channel earlier today, though it didn’t provide any more specific details.
The Redmi K20 series includes the standard Redmi K20 and the more powerful Redmi K20 Pro. Xiaomi launched both phones in China last week — we have everything you need to know about them here — but the company didn’t reveal global availability details at that time.

The Redmi K20 and K20 Pro are exciting prospects from the Redmi sub-brand. The Pro variant offers flagship-like specs, including a Snapdragon 855 chipset, at a sub-$400 price (based on the conversion from the Chinese launch prices). The K20 Pro starts at 2,499 yuan (~$362, ~25,000 rupees) while the regular K20 model begins at 1,999 yuan (~$289, ~20,000 rupees).
Xiaomi certainly thinks highly of the new phones: the company recently labeled the K20 “starkly superior to the latest One” in billboards posted alongside the OnePlus 7. Whether it turns out to be better than its OnePlus rival we’ll have to assess in our upcoming review.
“Starkly superior to the latest one!” +1 if you liked these punny ads! #RedmiK20 and #RedmiK20Pro coming soon! The #FlagshipKiller 2.0
