Huawei P30 series absolutely smashes P20 series sales record
Huawei is expecting a massive sales drop following the U.S. trade ban against it, but it looks like its P30 series has enjoyed record sales since its March reveal.
The Huawei P30 series has hit 10 million units sold in 85 days, the Chinese manufacturer announced in a press release. So how does that compare to the P20 series?
“The time we took to reach 10 million unit sales (for the P30 series) is 62 days less than that for P20 series,” said Kevin Ho, President of Huawei’s handset product line. That’s a pretty huge sales jump compared to last year’s phones then, and it’s not like the 2018 devices didn’t do big business.

The P20 Pro took four weeks to become the best-selling device in Western Europe in Huawei’s history. The P20 Pro in turn out-sold the P10 Plus in Western Europe by a reported 316 percent after a month.
Earlier this month, the company claimed it reached 100 million smartphones shipped on May 30. It’s clear then that the Chinese brand had a ton of momentum in 2019, but the U.S. trade ban will undoubtedly result in a sales drop. In fact, Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei confirmed reports that international smartphone sales dropped by 40 percent.
In any event, it’s easy to see why the P30 series has enjoyed great sales performance, with the P30 Pro in particular offering great camera quality. Both the P30 and the Pro variant offer RYYB camera sensors for improved low-light performance, while the P30 Pro delivers a 5x periscope zoom camera too.
Our own David Imel was pretty clear in his P30 Pro review: “So, should you buy the Huawei P30 Pro? If you want the best camera, the best battery life, or just a really good all-around smartphone, the answer is a strong yes.”
