Watch 40 DAYS: Canelo vs. Jacobs documentary series from LeBron James and DAZN

You can see what goes into preparing for a main event fight beyond training.

The fight of the year so far is fast approaching, and some of the biggest names in sports are teaming up to give you special access to both fighters. DAZN and UNINTERRUPTED, the media platform founded by LeBron James and Maverick Carter, present the documentary series 40 DAYS: Canelo vs. Jacobs. The series is live now, and available in English and Spanish, starting with the "Episode 1: Roots" streaming on DAZN and the DAZN YouTube Channel.

40 DAYS: Canelo vs. Jacobs is a series that is reminiscent of HBO's 24/7 series. It is presenting a look at the fighters, and their lives, in the run up to a landmark fight. That fight, Canelo vs. Jacobs, is set for Saturday, May 4 exclusively on DAZN, and it will unify the WBA Super, WBC, IBF and The Ring Middleweight World Championships. 40 DAYS explores how the fight came to be, and how the fighters are preparing. Here is the trailer for the series.

The first part of the series is already out. It is Episode 1: Roots, and it dives straight in to the backstory for each fighter in their own words. You hear Canelo speak about his youth in a difficult environment in Mexico, and how he sought safety and a way out in a local boxing gym. It is especially gripping to hear Jacobs speak about his cancer diagnosis, which almost took his career and ability to live a normal life. You'll also get to see the private jets, promotional studio time, and press conferences that are a part of promoting a fight that has the attention of the world. It isn't clear how many more episodes are coming, or if they will all be posted to YouTube, but you will definitely get every episode if you have DAZN.

DAZN is a streaming sports service with a heavy focus on combat sports, including MMA. Bellator events could previously have been part of a more expensive pay channel or pay per view package. With DAZN, this matchup and more MMA, boxing, soccer and cricket are included in the regular subscription. DAZN even has ChangeUp, a nightly live look-in show for MLB that starts on March 28. With over 100 fights per year, including major promotions from Bellator, Combate Americas, Golden Boy Promotions, Matchroom USA and World Boxing Super Series, DAZN is a great deal for both hardcore fight fans and general sports lovers.
