Moto G100 leak shows Motorola’s Snapdragon 870 phone is ready to go global
- The Motorola Edge S could be headed to global markets as the Moto G100.
- A leak has revealed renders and specs of the new Moto G, all but confirming the theory.
- The global model may get a dedicated Google Assistant key.
Back in January, the Motorola’s Edge S became the first phone to carry the flagship-class Snapdragon 870 processor. However, the device only launched in China at the time, with no word on global availability up until now. Renders of the so-called Moto G100 have now leaked, all but confirming that it’ll be a rebranded Edge S for global markets.
Images of the phone come courtesy of Techniknews and XDA journalist Adam Conway. They show that the Moto G100 is identical to the Motorola Edge S in form and most likely in specs.
The leak also mentions just like its Chinese counterpart, the Moto G100 will also get a 6.7-inch LCD Full HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate.
There are two punch-hole cameras on the front as well as “64MP Audio Zoom” branding at the back, suggesting that the rest of the specs of the phone may also remain unchanged.
The leak, however, mentions that the European model of the phone will get a dedicated Google Assistant button on the left side.
Motorola is already teasing the launch of a Snapdragon 870 phone and with this leak, it’s pretty obvious we have a rebrand on our hands. The Moto G100 moniker also recently appeared on an official Google support page, suggesting it might be heading for launch soon.
