MIUI 12 Android 11 stable update now going out to Xiaomi and Redmi phones
Xiaomi is now rolling out the MIUI 12 stable update based on Android 11 to a lot of phones.
MIUI 12 made its debut earlier this year, and Xiaomi has finished rolling out the stable update to most devices in its portfolio. Xiaomi's latest skin offering an array of new features, including an improved system-wide dark mode, AI-assisted calling features, Dynamic Always-on Display, new visual design, tweaks to system animations, and much-needed privacy fixes.
Xiaomi is now turning its attention to the Android 11 update. It is starting to roll out MIUI 12 based on Android 11, with the stable update now rolling out to the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Mi 10. Xiaomi makes some of the best cheap Android phones, and it is good to see the manufacturer rolling out the Android 11 update earlier than usual.
So let's take a look at the list of eligible phones slated to switch to Android 11, and when your device might receive the update.
MIUI 12 Android 11 update: Now rolling out to Redmi Note 9, Mi 10, Mi 10T series
The stable Android 11 update based on MIUI 12 began rolling out to the Mi 10 and Redmi Note 9 in India in early December. However, the update was pulled on the Redmi Note 9 Pro after users noticed a lot of bugs.
Xiaomi also rolled out the beta release to global Redmi K30 units and the Mi 9 series later in December. Starting December 22, POCO started delivering the beta MIUI 12 Android 11 update to the POCO F2 Pro, with a stable build coming soon.
In January, Xiaomi delivered the Android 11 update to the Redmi K30 series, Mi Note 10 Lite in the UK and other Western markets, and the Mi A3. It had several issues with the Mi A3 — the update bricked the phone — but Xiaomi sorted out the problems and the stable build is now available for the A3.
Starting February 5, Xiaomi kicked off the Android 11 update to the Mi 10T and 10T Pro in India, UK, and other global markets. In March, POCO started rolling out the MIUI 12 update based on Android 11 to the X3 NFC in parts of Europe. Some users have reported bugs and some instability, but it's likely that those will be fixed before a wider global rollout.
