The best Polar watches you can get your hands on

The best Polar watch: Polar Ignite smart fitness watch lying flat on tiled surface.

Whether you’re a professional athlete training for a triathlon or just someone who just wants to track their runs or hikes, there’s a Polar watch out there for you. The company’s lineup consists of the Vantage series aimed at demanding users, the M series that’s suitable for casual athletes, and the Ignite watch that falls somewhere in between. We’ve rounded them all up in this post, so you can decide for yourself which one is right for you.

Best Polar watches:

Editor’s note: We’ll be updating this list of the best Polar watches regularly as new ones launch.

1. Polar Vantage V Titan

Vantage V Titan

This is the best Polar watch you can currently get. Aimed at serious runners, it comes equipped with GPS, an always-on color display, and a heart rate sensor. It’s water-resistant (WR50) and supports over 130 sport profiles. The case of the watch is made from titanium for a premium and durable look.

The Polar Vantage V Titan's battery can last up to 40 hours.

One of the things that make it special is that it lets you monitor your running power without the need for a separate foot pod or power meter. The watch also comes with Polar’s Recovery Pro tool, which helps you see how your body responds to training and whether you’re ready for more. The battery is said to be good for up to 40 hours of continuous training, with the heart rate and GPS turned on.

The Polar Vantage V Titan can track your calories as well as sleep and offers guided breathing exercises for times when you need to relax. Of course, it also connects with your phone and shows you various notifications.

2. Polar Vantage V

Polar Vantage V

In terms of specs and features, this Polar watch is exactly the same as the Vantage V Titan above. That means it features a built-in GPS, it’s water-resistant (WR50), and it comes with Polar’s Recovery Pro tool. It also sports a heart rate sensor and allows you to monitor your running power, among other things.

The only major difference between the two watches is the material used for the casing. While the Vantage V Titan is made from titanium, the regular Vantage V is manufactured from stainless steel, making it slightly heavier (66g vs. 59g). The overall design of the two watches is pretty much the same, though.

The Vantage V is quite a bit cheaper than the Titan model, so if you don’t care about which material the casing is made of, this is the better option for you.

3. Polar Vantage M

Polar Vantage M

This is the least powerful watch in Polar’s Vantage series, but it is still a very good one. Compared to the other two models, you lose out on the ability to check your running power. The device also doesn’t come with Polar’s Recovery Pro tool and sports a smaller battery that gets you 30 hours of continuous use instead of 40. These are the major differences, although there are a few other small ones as well.

For the average runner, this Polar watch offers everything you need and more. You get a built-in GPS, a heart rate monitor, water-resistance (WR30), and an always-on color display. It’s a lot more affordable than the other two models in the series, costing around half as much as the Vantage V Titan.

4. Polar Ignite

Polar Ignite

If the Vantage series is too pricey for you or you just don’t need all the fancy features it offers, the Ignite might be the Polar watch you’re looking for. It strikes a great balance between features and price.

The Polar Ignite has a simple and elegant design. It’s the thinnest and lightest watch the company has made to date, coming in at just 35g. You get a built-in GPS, a heart rate sensor, water-resistance (WR30), and the ability to track data in more than 100 activities. The battery isn’t as good as those of Polar’s more expensive models, but it’s still decent at a maximum of 17 hours.

The watch offers guided breathing exercises and sports a single button, so using it is a breeze. It also track your sleep and can connect with your phone, so you’ll never miss a notification.

5. Polar M430

Polar M430

The Polar M430 is affordable and offers all the basic features a runner needs. The watch sports a built-in GPS, a heart rate monitor, and can connect to your phone. It’s water-resistant (WR30), so you can take it in the pool for a swim.

The M430 works with the Polar Running Program and offers up to eight hours of battery life.

The M430 is compatible with the Polar Running Program, which will help guide your daily training and assist you in achieving your performance goals. You can upload daily training programs to your M430, access strength and core training videos, and even monitor your running progress via the Running Index feature.

The battery should be good for up to eight hours of use, which isn’t bad, but it definitely isn’t as good as the rest of the Polar watches mentioned so far. Also keep in mind that the watch doesn’t have a color display.

6. Polar M200

M200 in black

The last Polar watch on this list is also the cheapest one, which means it offers the least when it comes to specs and features. Despite its affordable price, it still features a built-in GPS and a heart rate sensor. It’s also water-resistant, so you can take it for a swim.

There’s no color display here, and the build quality is not as good as those of the more expensive Polar watches — but it’s not terrible. Regardless, you’re still getting a lot for your money.

The M200 comes with Polar’s Running Index, which will show you how your running performance is improving over time. In the Polar Flow app, you’ll get a Running Index score that’s automatically calculated after every run, based on your heart rate and speed data.

There you have it — these are the best Polar watches you can get at the moment. We’ll update this post with new models once they hit the market.
